For establishments that require a lot of refrigerated space a walk-in unit like the KLB8488-C 8' x 8' x 8'-4" H Kold Locker from NorLake could be the most cost-effective and efficient option. This floorless walk-in coolers with top mounted compressor has a height of 8’4”.

The panels of this cooler are 4” thick with foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation. The exposed sides of each panel are made from 26 gauge steel coated with corrosion-resistant embossed stucco. For ease-of-installation, each panel has male and female rails that come together to ensure proper alignment. To maintain an air-tight seal between each panel foamed-in-place cam locking fasteners are used. A continuous panel gasket wraps around outer perimeter free from breaks or cuts at the corners. The ceiling panels feature foamed-in-place edge caps that will stay in place for the life of the cooler.

This walk-in unit comes standard with a 26” wide door featuring a stepped profile that acts as a barrier against airflow. An upgraded 30” door kit complete with a stainless steel kick plate ($250 value) can be selected at no extra cost. Two cam-lift hinges are included with the door and can be installed on the right or left. These hinges are field-adjustable to make sure the door swings freely while providing an airtight seal. A spring-assisted door closer is included to keep the door from being left ajar. The door is pre-hung in a 4-foot wide panel and features a magnetic stainless steel trim, digital thermometer, replaceable perimeter heating wire, and vapor proof LED light fixture actuated by a switch with external indicator light. Everything inside the walk-in is kept secure by an NL 9800 deadbolt handle with an independent key/padlock feature. To keep workers safe, a safety release inside the door panel makes sure no-one gets locked inside.

To keep items inside between 35°F and 38°F this walk-in features the RCPB075JC-S-4-EV  Capsule Pak Refrigeration system that produces 6250 BTU/hr. The Enviro-Control™ electronic control system controls the Capsule Pak’s temperature and also sets the defrost timer. A field-wired automatic condensate vaporizer is included to do away with drain lines (the automatic condensate vaporizer is shipped loose). The refrigeration unit uses 208/230 voltage and requires a 15 amp fuse.
