Glastender GT-18 Description
Glasswasher, door type, 18"W x 24"D O.A., low temperature chemical sanitizing, washes (720) 2-1/2" diameter glasses per hour, 10" maximum glass height, intelligent microprocessor control, automatic chemical pumps, digital temperature gauge, prime switch, removable top & side panels, external chemical storage, includes (2) 16" diameter polypropylene racks & (2) curtains, stainless steel construction, stainless steel legs with adjustable feet, 1/6 HP water pump, cETLus, ETL-SanitationThe Glastender GT-18 Glasswasher is a door-loading rotary glasswasher that can process up to 720 2-½” diameter glasses per hour. Glastender, the company, gets its namesake from the first rotary glasswasher they sold in 1969 when it was invented by Jon D. Hall. This particular model is tried and tested and has been in production for over 25 years.
This unit comes with 2 16” diameter racks made from polypropylene, having two racks streamlines loading and unloading for greater throughput. While one rack is in the unit going through the 2-minute wash cycle the other one can be emptied of clean glasses onto a drying rack and loaded with dirty glasses. Additional glass racks and specialized racks for dishes and stemware are also available.
Washing is controlled with a simple control panel with a digital temperature gauge. An intelligent microprocessor makes sure that the water entering the unit is at least 120°F while peristaltic pumps automatically dispense detergent, sanitizer and rinse aid during the cleaning cycle. Each cycle uses around 2-½ gallons of water and the hot water is sprayed into the glassware with a ⅙ HP recirculating pump that delivers water through 15 spray nozzles.
The Glastender GT-18 glasswasher does not have a dedicated water heater which reduces its overall size and makes it more energy efficient.
The main parts of the Glastender GT-18 Glasswasher are made from various thicknesses of durable and easy to maintain stainless steel. The cabinet is 20 gauge, while the floor and tanks are 18 gauge, the legs, and leg mounting brackets are 16 gauge, and the drive wheel is 11 gauge. The unit stands 38-½” tall and is 18” wide by 18-¾” front to back. To keep the unit level it stands on 7” tubular legs with adjustable bullet feet.
Cleaning this unit is easy with its removable top, drive wheel, glass rack, and side panels.
Plumbing for this unit uses a ½” water supply adapted to a ⅜” FMPT fitting. The water pressure must be between 25 PSI and 100 PSI. The water temperature should be between 120°F and 150°F. An open type floor drain is recommended for maximum drainage from its 1-½” tailpiece. Bottles for the detergent, rinse aid and sanitizer are stored externally with 6-foot long tubing provided for remote storage options. A clip-on chemical rail is available separately and can hold 3 1-gallon bottles of chemicals on the left of the device.
This unit comes with a 6-foot long grounded cord with NEMA 5-15P plug to supply it with 120v/60/1-ph power. The unit uses 3.5 amps of power and should be installed to its own dedicated 15.0 amp circuit.
The Glastender GT-18 Glasswasher has cETLus and ETL-Sanitation certification.
